How to Stop Anxiety and Panic Attacks

Stop Panic Attacks Now - Find Out How

"Anxiety disorder" is a term encapsulating various types of anxieties, fears, and phobias. These disorders are defined as "irrational or illogical worry"... not based on fact.

Panic Attacks are just one of the many kinds of anxiety disorders as are most phobias, generalized anxiety disorder (GAD) obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), post-traumatic stress disorder, and social anxiety.

Anxiety therapy has been proven very effective in providing relief for all types of anxiety disorder sufferers including those with panic attacks.

Panic attacks or anxiety attacks often come on very suddenly, and are accompanied with very intense feelings of fear, terror and anxiety.

Just some of the more common physical symptoms during an anxiety or panic attack are a rapid heart beat (palpitations), visible shaking or internal trembling, rapid and or shallow breathing, hot or cold flushes, light headedness or dizziness, headaches, fatigue, insomnia, increased sweating, and often feel as if you are losing control of your life or that you are going crazy.

Panic attacks will not physically harm you and typically last no longer than 30 minutes.

Panic attacks have at least as many emotional and mental symptoms as there are physical symptoms.

Some of which cause the sufferer to withdraw from relationships, frightening situations, seemingly overwhelming challenges including their own aspirations and life long dreams. Those suffering from panic attacks enter a cycle of fearing their next attack which in turn just intensifies the painful feelings of anxiety and fear.

Panic and anxiety attacks are completely treatable despite how deep the cycle can become in a persons life.

Listed below are many of the more common types of panic attack treatments.

Anxiety Therapy - includes Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), psychoanalysis, and professional counseling. It is practiced by a certified or licensed counselor or therapist.

Aromatherapy - is an alternative form of medicine using the essential oils (EOs) of plant material as a way to positively affect a person's health, mental state, emotional state or spiritual state.

Popular Aromatherapy products are used in massage, medicine, various topical applications, and simply smelling the scent of various herbs can be known to calm and soothe nerves.

Exercise - is a well known method of relieving stress and excess anxiety. Clinical studies indicate aerobic exercise to be the best form of exercise for those suffering from anxiety and stress.

Prescription Medication - will offer temporary relief from panic attack symptoms but typically doesn't address the underlying condition.

Calming and Relaxation Techniques - a few of the most tried-and-true would include meditation, deep breathing exercises, and yoga.

There are literally hundreds of deep breathing exercises to try but most are fairly similar to slowly taking a deep breath in… holding it for 4-6 seconds... gently encourage yourself to "relax" while holding… then slowly exhale fully.

Meditation requires focusing on a single object of thought and requires discipline and much practice. The benefits of meditation are great and well worth the effort to the dedicated student. Meditation gently shifts the focus of the anxious mind onto positive and peaceful thoughts which leads to peaceful emotions and feelings.

Yoga originated in India as an ancient spiritual practice. Yoga was believed to lead to spiritual experiences and to bring insight to the nature of existence.

Today yoga is practiced all over the world and consists largely of the practice of "postures" as a form of stretching, strengthening and relaxing exercise. Yoga and meditation often go hand in hand.

Music Therapy - involves listening to precisely recorded meditative music as a means to relieve stress, enhance creativity, improve sleep and access deep meditative states. Click here for more information on Music Therapy

Self Help Treatments - There are literally countless very effective Self-help anxiety treatments available that will resolve the underlying issue of the sufferer and cure panic attacks on a permanent basis.
